Let’s Talk Wrestling : AEW Rampage “The Last Dance” Episode 2 (Review)

AEW

Rampage

08.20.2021

Chicago, IL

United Center

Of course we’ll start this out talking about the return of Chicagos own CM Punk. After a 7+ year hiatus from the world of wrestling Punk has returned to a sold out crowd that couldn’t be more excited for his return. As someone in attendance, the crowd was deafening levels of loud for this. Punk came out and delivered a promo that touched every base a fan could want but more than that, Punk looked happy. He looked happy to be back, happy to be in a ring, and happy to see the fans which is something he wasn’t for some time most will say.

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament First Round Match
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (w/Matt Hardy) vs. The Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) (w/Marko Stunt)
The first match of the tag tournament to see who will face the Young Bucks in a cage at All Out for the belts. This was a fun moving quick paced match. Some good high spots even if some moves didn’t always connect. Both teams have great chemistry against each other. 3 / 5
Kiera Hogan vs. Jade Cargill (w/Mark Sterling)
Super quick almost squash match. Felt neither side really gained or loss much here, the quick finish just seemed unneeded as Jade could of had the match gone longer as viewing for Baker in their feud. .5 / 5
Jon Moxley (w/Eddie Kingston) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/Jeff Parker & Matt Lee)
Solid match here with Moxley and Garcia. Garcia showed a lot of promise here and looked great toe to toe with Moxley. The final moments of this match were great both technical wrestling wise as well as visually. Can’t wait to see what Garcia does down the line in AEW. 3.5 / 5
