Between the band’s constant upward momentum and ridiculous time at Coachella 2023, Knocked Loose have continued their climb toward the mountaintop. Having celebrated their tenth year as a band, it’s clear that they’re just getting started. Case in point, the video for the band’s two new songs, “Deep In The Willow” and “Everything Is Quiet Now”.
While stylistically not falling too far from what they did on their most recent EP A Tear In The Fabric Of Life, there are still signs of evolution from Knocked Loose. As others have noted, death is becoming an overarching theme for KL, while there’s even an interesting clean melody played at the end of the video. Speaking of which, the video is some seriously ambitious high art content, a must-watch as far as we’re concerned.
About the new tracks, vocalist Bryan Garris discussed Knocked Loose venturing outside their comfort zone, saying:
“‘Deep In The Willow‘ and ‘Everything Is Quiet Now‘ are a reminder that we are heavy, intense, and extreme. Some elements come and go, but those will never change. After ‘A Tear in the Fabric of Life’ we were inspired to see how much art we could incorporate moving forward – which led us to a style of video we’ve never attempted or approached.
Taking myself specifically far outside of my comfort zone and pushing the boundaries on how I’ve been seen in the past was a creative experience I will never forget. This video wouldn’t be what it is without the collaboration with Eric Richter, someone we’ve admired for a while. And the songs wouldn’t be what they are without [producer] Drew Fulk, a new friend and creative ear in the entire process.”
