With their 2006 album As Daylight Dies, Killswitch Engage was one of a number of bands that helped cement metalcore’s burgeoning commercial success. Alongside Atreyu, All That Remains, and Avenged Sevenfold (just to name a few), they were an integral part of the genre’s mainstream acceptance too.
Even so, the number of bands in that scene who scored Gold and Platinum sales certifications is smaller than you’d think. Of course, Killswitch Engage already have a few Gold singles and albums, but now one of the band’s most special albums has reached a Platinum album certification.
That album, of course, is the aforementioned As Daylight Dies – which has now racked up enough sales for the band’s first Platinum RIAA album certification. Impressive stuff, that is quite the accomplishment.
