One of the few stars in the hip-hop world to openly discuss his mental health issues, Kid Cudi has experienced it all – from the highs of stardom, to the sinking lows of rehab and depression. On his 2008 debut mixtape and subsequent debut record, Cudi broke down musical barriers by collaborating with MGMT, Common, and influencing a new generation of emotionally-driven hip-hoppers. It hasn’t all been easy, obviously.
In a new episode (you can view the clip below) of Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith, which airs in full on Monday, Kid Cudi candidly dishes on his mental health issues, especially the ones that caused him to check into rehab in 2016. Give it a watch below.
2018 has been kind to Cudi, as his collaboration with Kanye West, Kids See Ghosts, received numerous accolades upon its release – and he’s working on his 7th solo record, as well.
