Psychologist Jordan Peterson routinely misses the point on many ideas and subjects. From deadnaming actor Elliot Page (which resulted in a Twitter ban until recently) to generally being criticized for his views on there supposedly being a “crisis of masculinity” (bro, please stop), he’s definitely a pariah to many in the world.

In an act of absolute insanity (seriously, good luck even deciphering whatever point Peterson is trying to make), Jordan Peterson decided that RTing a video of Korn’s harrowing song “Daddy” was a good idea, for some reason. The song, which is about the sexual abuse that vocalist Jonathan Davis suffered as a child (and that wasn’t believed, either), is being misconstrued by Peterson as something else entirely. While it’s difficult to even make out what he’s saying (punctuation apparently isn’t a thing for Mr. Peterson here), it’s pretty clear that he’s raised the ire of many, many people with his statement.

As others have mentioned, Peterson posting this is interesting (and not in a good way) because of him constantly talking about men’s mental health. As usual, Peterson misses the fucking point. “Daddy” is about real-life events, straight from the person who experienced it. It’s unsurprising that Peterson doesn’t seem to understand its significance, though. After all, he works with the company DailyWire, who employ such right-wing luminaries as Ben “Dry, Not Moist” Shapiro and Matt Walsh, who labels himself a “theocratic fascist”. Very fine people right here.

this song is about a real life story, the author’s story
he was abused when he was a child and his parents didn’t believed him
music is about expressing your feelings, good and bad, but i don’t expect you to understand such things

All secular music has issues, it’s secular. I don’t listen to a lot of it. I used to listen to Korn as a kid, not particularly this song but music is a gateway to a spiritually challenging experience and you very much need to pay attention to the words of a song.

no this song is not promoting touching kids. it’s the lead singer’s way of expressing his trauma as a victim of the very thing peterson is accusing him of promoting. fucking sickening, like actually https://t.co/6CIpUwuMoO

for someone who claims to be an intellectual, jordan peterson does not do any sort of research or fact-checking before making stupid fucking tweets like this. https://t.co/NTInVfy20M
