IWA Mid-South
King Of The Deathmatches Night One
Plainfield, Indiana
June 22nd, 2007
Solid opening match. Mickie showed off wanting to stand against Tank for this. A lot of hard hits here and blood between both of them. Not a very weapons heavy match but it had heart behind it.
3 / 5
A slower match that never really hit the spot. It was shorter too so that might be it. Taipei matches are usually hit or miss though. This one at least had some good blood in it.
2 / 5
A decent match with Pondo bleeding a ton and Scotty taking some big bumps. The spots with the ornaments and the cactus were pretty brutal looking. Ornaments in particular looked vicious. Not the best match as Pondo doesn’t always move the best but the violence was spot on.
3 / 5
A short match but with that came some good moves. All the thumbtacks here was nuts and they both took some good moves straight onto a massive pile of them.
2.5 / 5
Dear lord Dysfunction bled a ton here. This was when him and Danny were new in the scene and both these guys went all out for 10 minutes. The fall off the cage was insane and this match showed why both these guys could become big deathmatch names.
3.5 / 5
Both guys were over from this match with the crowd but this was a slower sluggish deathmatch between two big guys who couldn’t wrestle much. Both bled buckets though and took some rough hits.
1.5 / 5
Decent match but just wasn’t into it much. A lot of crowd brawling throughout which is a first for this event. Some decent spots and stiff headbutts but just wasn’t grabbing me.
2 / 5
Another sloppy and sluggish but bloody match. Both guys took some big hits and the final looked sloppy but rough. They got a bit of a longer match than most and bled a ton so to end Night 1 this way could have been worse.
