Having recently come off opening the Sonic Unrest Tour II (headlined by Periphery and supported by The Contortionist and Norma Jean), it’s safe to say this tour was a massive one for self-described “future shredders” Infinit Shred. The NYC-based outfit, who might remind listeners of M83 and Explosions In The Sky just to name a few, are really making a name for themselves in the music world.
Whether you consider them synthwave, post-rock, or even post-electronic metal (we made that up), one listen to the band’s recent full-length (2016’s Long Distance) prove that Infinity Shred has the talent to go very far in the music industry, no matter what they do next.
I had the chance to talk to Damon of Infinity Shred on the Tampa date of their recent tour with Periphery, where we discussed the possibility of vocals in upcoming music, the struggle they face as an independent act, and also the new fans they’ve been able to connect with recently.
