Six years ago this month, I Prevail released their debut EP Heart vs. Mind. Coupled with the viral success of their cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, the post-hardcore/metalcore band has gone on to some stunning success since – dispelling the notion that they only got big off a cover song. The band, who really emerged on the scene with their 2016 album Lifelines, have now reached a major milestone with their hit single “Scars”.
The single has now been certified Gold by the RIAA, with equivalent album units of 500,000 or more. Pretty impressive for a band many thought might be a flash in the pan success – they’ve also got Grammy nominations under their belt, which is even more impressive.
