Hostile Array release balanced and resonant new EP, ‘Trauma’

Maryland-based 5-piece Hostile Array have just released their EP Trauma. The creative output from this project has allowed the band members to work through their personal mental health struggles, and the result will give listeners a place to do the same.

In the words of vocalist Brendan Frey, “This EP is a collection of singles that we felt belonged together in context. Each song was written as a way to process the trauma and associated mental health struggles several of us have shared over the years. Working on these songs was not only lyrically therapeutic, but creatively as well. We really tried to challenge ourselves to experiment with our sound and not worry about holding ourselves to any specific genre expectations.”

The songs that constitute Trauma are equally satisfying to one’s pop sensibilities as they are to the parts of us that are drawn to heavier music. Hostile Array’s effortless blend of post-hardcore, metalcore, and alternative pop music makes for an undeniable collection of tracks.
