Denzel Curry’s one-take live performance on extended album proves he’s a singular talent

Denzel Curry

Carol City rapper Denzel Curry explored jazz rap on his latest album Melt My Eyez See Your Future, which released earlier this year in March. He’s now released an extended version featuring live session performances recorded with the Cold Blooded Soul band. This edition includes new takes on of 8 of the album’s 14 tracks. Rounding out the extended edition are two new songs, “Chrome Hearts” and “Larger than Life”. All ten tracks were recorded in one take and display a chilled-out jazz aesthetic. Zacari, who sung on Kendrick Lamar’s hit song “LOVE.”, also features on “Chrome Hearts”.

Denzel Curry also premiered a music video for the trap-influenced track “X-Wing”, recently.

One of current hip-hop’s most acclaimed MCs, Denzel is a vocal fan of rock and metal.  He’s previously referenced bands like Slayer, Korn and Black Sabbath within his lyrics, and performed a cover of Rage Against the Machine’s rap-rock classic “Bulls on Parade”.
