Green Day has always had a rebellious side within their music, it’s part of their charm. I mean, it was almost 20 years ago that the pop-punk legends made American Idiot – the album that relaunched their career. Vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong took to the stage at the London Stadium to renounce his US citizenship following the US Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn the landmark Roe Vs. Wade decision that left abortion rights to individual states – instead of being the law of the land.
While it’s unclear if this will actually happen or not, this is the same band that wrote American Idiot – so anyone surprised to see that Billie Joe Armstrong is very upset and disturbed at this decision really shouldn’t be.
