Get your dance moves on, because Skindred’s reggae metal classic “Nobody” is going viral

Big news, everyone! Nobody gets out of this pit alive. At least that’s the story on Skindred’s genre-bending signature song, “Nobody”. Released initially in 2002 on their debut album Babylon, the band (who formed from the ashes of the like-minded Dub War) combined metal, alternative rock, hip-hop, reggae, and dance dancehall (just to name a few) to create something that lit up the scene. No easy task when you consider how many nu-metal bands existed at the time, many of which had elements of these genres already.

Of course, when you’re led by an enigmatic vocalist like Benji Webbe, anything is possible. What’s cool about “Nobody” is that even 20+ years after its release, its infectious and moshpit-ready sound manages to be both catchy and heavy. Not a small feat, to be sure. In fact, its ode to the moshpit rivals even the likes of Drowning Pool’s “Bodies”, as far as we’re concerned. But that’s neither here nor there. What is particularly cool is that the song is seeing a viral revival with a new generation discovering the song (and the band as a whole).

The song is going nuclear on TikTok and social media via…dance moves? I mean, we’re here for it. Pretty awesome. Even Benji Webbe himself is getting down with it, so here’s hoping more people continue to discover the awesomeness that is Skindred.
