Founding A Skylit Drive vocalist Jordan Blake has passed away at the age of 36

Vocalist Jordan Blake, who helped form A Skylit Drive as the post-hardcore band launched into success with the She Watched The Sky EP in 2007, has passed away at the age of 36. One of the more unique vocalists of the time period, the EP quickly gained traction on MySpace and on social media as one of Tragic Hero’s first big signings. Jordan left the band the same year due to health problems that prevented him from touring, but was a part of other bands like Watchout There’s Ghosts!, Trances, and many more. Blake then reformed A Skylit Drive’s original 2006 lineup and toured, with resoundingly positive reception.

In a statement, the band had this to say:

“We are overwhelmed with grief to inform you of the loss of Jordan early this morning. Jordan was a trail blazer in the emo/post hardcore music scene with undeniable passion who loved his fans like family. When he had a story to tell, you could read it in his lyrics, hear it in his voice, see it his movements and feel it in your depths. We will forever reflect fondly on the memories and music we shared. We love you Jordan, we’ll see you down the road brother. “Always in our Hearts”.

We want to respect Jordan’s family’s wishes for privacy and space to grieve so we will not be commenting until further notice. Thank you all for reaching out and for your kind words. His legacy will live on through all of you.”
