Growing up, I was a big fan of anything that was remotely close to what you’d find on Warped Tour in the late 90’s – punk rock, hardcore, and classic skatepunk. Though I still dig the tour even today (I’ve been attending for 14 years this summer), there’s nothing like the draw of nostalgia and good times listening to bands like Lagwagon, Bad Religion, Snapcase, and more modern bands like Anti-Flag and Strike Anywhere.

Sweden’s Junkstars are bringing that style back to your listening ears with their new video for “This Means War”. The track channels the spirit of the aforementioned bands, while simultaneously blazing new trails for their peers to follow. In short – “This Means War” is a riot. We’re stoked to be premiering the new video for the track as well, which you can find below. Vocalist/guitarist Max Malmquist had this to say about the song:

Actually this song is not about war such as two countries fighting against each other but a war against the ”established” music industry. There are so many bands and artists that consume the majority of airplay on radio and tv and it´s always same bands. It’s only the old bands that we never give up listening to or new “promoted” bands that we generally don´t like that get played. So this song is about all the new bands and artists and their struggle. The music we really want to hear and see. A music war for new music. Good music.
