ECW
One Night Stand
New York City, New York
June 12th, 2005
A short but sweet start to the PPV. Storm looked great for not having wrestled in a while. The typical fast back and forth action you’d expect from these two. Keeping it under 10 minutes meant it never slowed down much and the crowd was behind it.

Moonsault from the balcony was fantastic. A six minute match that was super fast paced and fun but almost too chaotic for its time. Hard to follow at times due to everything happening.

A fun match but short so they didn’t have time to do much. This wasn’t close to their time in WCW against each other but still was decent enough. Rey using the 619 was odd though given he didn’t have that move in ECW.

Another quick fun match. Both guys got their stuff in quickly before RVD jumped in to help Sabu. Crowd was super into it and gave everyone a little chance to shine some.

A match that I thought I’d like a lot more but didn’t. Slower paced than everything else but still good. You wouldn’t expect anything else from these two though. At 10 minutes it was a faster match than these two would normally go for.

10 minutes of Awesome and Tanaka trying their best to break each other in half or crack each others skulls. A fantastic match and by far the best of the night. One I revisit and think of often. This was hard hitting, little actual wrestling, and instead just these two forces of nature doing their best to wreck the other.
4.5 / 5
Before the match a few other teams come out to some pops from the crowd and get everything started with some quick spots. Once the match begins we get 4 ECW faces fighting which doesn’t matter because this was a physical match that had the crowd cheering for everything. All 4 guys gave it their all here with tons of crazy spots. Dreamer bled like a pig here and the flaming table spot was vicious. This match showcased ECW and their style perfectly.
