Rap? Metal? DVSR’s hybridized music speaks for itself

The bridge between rap/hip-hop and metal is often a tricky one to cross. Many bands that attempt to combine the two either don’t do it too well (focusing on one or the other), or the merging of genres comes across as unauthentic and even “fake”. Australia’s DVSR has already dispelled those concerns, though, with their 2015 self-titled debut record being chock full of bangers. Comparisons to Hacktivist surely abound, but DVSR is clearly their own entity. Other bands can’t touch the fiery “Unconscious” and especially not recent single “Bad Company”.

The band, who recently announced an upcoming album coming out this year (see below), are one of a select few bands pulling off this style well. Don’t believe me? Peep the video for “Bad Company” below. DVSR is what happens when the flames of hip-hop and metal collide, and it’s likely they’ll avoid the sophomore slump considering their musical talent is off the charts.
