Who IS this band? British rock newcomers Dissonants announce debut EP, release new song, “Exhale”

It takes a strong initial effort to make a first impression on an avid music listener. You don’t need to change the world necessarily, but in the rock and post-hardcore genres, you pretty much need to capture the listener’s attention right away. So it’s with caution but also excitement that I looked in my inbox this AM to find the initial single from Southampton alt-rock newcomers Dissonants. And boy, was I impressed.

While the band will inevitably be compared to the peers like Too Close To Touch and Hands Like Houses, it’s clear that the band’s shiny pop hooks and overall energy will see them gain a big audience right away. At least, it seems that way. The only real gripe is that the harsh vocals seem forced, but even then, they’re not bad.
