Disgraced former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins is not having a great time in prison. Considering the laundry list of heinous offenses he committed to land himself there, he is surely getting his comeuppance. Last year he ended up getting stabbed in prison by an inmate, and now it’s actually being reported that the stabbing was due to a drug dispute.
Furthermore, The PRP is also reporting that Ian Watkins’ high-profile status in prison (due to both his stature as a once famous musician and mostly due to the nature of his crimes) now has to pay for protection in prison. Which makes a lot of sense, when you consider all of the factors that come into play but especially the heinous nature of his crimes which involve children. So, yeah, it hasn’t been a particularly fun time for Watkins while in prison.
“He had paid a Liverpool gang member £1,000 to use the phone, and when he got caught with it, he had to pay £5,000. This is fact; I know the guy who lent him the phone. Watkins is on C wing at HMP W.
His work activity is education. He buys his protection, and his recent stabbing was due to a drugs debt. He is considered vile amongst other offenders (because of his involvement in sexual offences against babies). He pays for protection.”
