Post-hardcore/metalcore veterans Blessthefall have not released music since 2018’s Hard Feelings album. They haven’t posted anything on Twitter since the beginning of 2020, right before the pandemic curbed live music. And there’s been no real update on the band’s status in a long time. Of course, vocalist Beau Bokan often tours with his wife Lights, and is a dad to boot. But for those who are Blessthefall fans, the band’s future just got murkier – and possibly definitive, if a recent Instagram post is anything to go by.
The tl;dr version is this. All the members of Blessthefall were recently spotted at a Lights show in Phoenix, Arizona, where she’s currently supporting her fantastic new album. Bokan posted a photo of all the members of Blessthefall while he was there, and was almost immediately asked about the status of the band. Unfortunately, Bokan responded with a sad face – so while there’s still nothing definitive (and future music can’t be ruled out), it appears likely the band is indeed on some kind of extended hiatus. We’ll see, of course.
If this is really it for the band, they certainly had a respectable run – six full-length albums, hundreds of thousands of albums sold, and their 2013 Hollow Bodies was a big deal when it debuted at a staggering #15 on the Billboard 200 that year. Considering they inspired a lot of bands to create their own projects, that’s not insignificant.
