Late last year, it was confirmed Pierce The Veil were hard at work on their fifth full-length album, and first since 2016. Working alongside them was twenty one pilots collaborator and MuteMath’s Paul Meany.
While as of now it’s unknown what the status of the upcoming record is, it’s quite likely we have more of an answer now – it may possibly be completed, or at the very least, PTV have some songs finished up. Just 7 hours ago, they announced a UK tour with special guests to be announced.
The band had this to say about the announcement, via a find from Rock Sound:
“I can’t believe it’s been six long years since we’ve played a show in the UK. Needless to say, we are dying to come back and see our fans again. We miss all of you dearly, and we’re excited to return with some very talented friends to put on a special show just for you. We’ll be debuting some new material off of our upcoming album and, of course, playing some old songs that we can all sing together at the top of our lungs. See you at the shows!”
As you’ll likely remember, in 2020, the band also confirmed Mike Fuentes was no longer a member of the band, following incidents years prior where Fuentes was accused of statutory rape and soliciting nude photos from a minor. PTV have been working on new material for a few years now, but the important thing to note here is that the band says they’ll have “material off of our upcoming album”. And there’s no word yet about tour dates elsewhere in the world, but those will likely come soon. The timelines do add up, so at the very least, seeing (well, hearing) new PTV is only a matter of time, if you’re into that.
