After getting hammered on social media via a cavalcade of allegations surrounding both the bands they chose to take on tour (Dorian Cooke of Neverkept – who addressed the allegations with a statement that you can find below) as well as allegations that have also surfaced around multiple members of the band, Chicago indie/alternative band Sleep On It have chosen to break up instead. Be warned, some of the stories you’ll find in the content below are graphic and traumatic.
TW: sexual assault, drug usage
I can’t stay silent anymore about what Dorian Cooke (Neverkept) did to me. I was begged to lie about it, cover it up, and then manipulated that what I experienced wasn’t real.

Essentially, the story is this. Substream covered it extensively here. Dorian Cooke of the band Neverkept initially was accused of sexual misconduct a couple weeks ago, and the band’s response to being called out on social media by their fans was met with critical derision, to say the least. Sleep On It’s manager chimed in to make a statement, saying “I know my guys are good guys”. However, more stories continued to surface about various members of Sleep On It, including Luka, the band’s drummer. This then led Sleep On It to make a breakup announcement on September 4th, despite the band being tapped to play festivals like Slam Dunk in 2021. Shortly after, Neverkept’s Dorian Cooke made a statement on Twitter, where Cooke mentioned he’ll be pursuing “legal action” towards these accusations.
