It used to be that Chevelle could be counted on for new full-length albums approximately every 2-3 years. It wasn’t until a couple album cycles ago that the wait between albums was a bit more lengthy. It’s already been a little over 3 years since NIRATIAS, and while Chevelle have been hard at work on new music, there’s no set release date for new full-length album. It should be noted that the more lengthy wait between albums hasn’t affected their quality or popularity either, proving that all good things do take time.
Still, however, there’s no doubt that fans of the band are clamoring to hear at least one new song. The band’s new album, which is likely to see release by the end of 2024, is Chevelle’s first record to be self-produced.
In a new interview with TribLive, the band revealed where they’re at in the process – with more of a timetable than they had previously.
”We kind of did expect to have it done (already). It’s like pulling teeth. This is what I described: Writing an album and doing all that is like pulling your hair out and then trying to put it back in. Writers love having written, is what I learned. It’s just torturous on my brother. It’s torturous because there’s just so many factors to making something great. And then the longer you can live with it, the more changes you’re gonna make. So that makes you never want to put it out. You never want to pull the pin and throw the grenade because you’re like, well, it gets better every time I look at it.”
The same story revealed that the record was in the home stretch, with a hopeful release date of September or October. There’s also only two songs left for Chevelle to finalize, making that release timeframe a possibility.
