As reported via Music Business Worldwide, major label BMG has purchased Oregon based independent record label Rise Records. Financial terms of the acquisition were only listed as a “Multi-Million Dollar” deal.
Under BMG’s ownership, Rise will continue to operate from its headquarters in Portland, Oregon under the leadership of Craig Ericson.
The purchase of Rise marks the third independent label that BMG has gathered within the past twelve months, of which includes, U.K. label Infectious and the U.S. label Vagrant. Who does BMG have in their sights next? Stay tuned.
