Bad Valentine unveils debut music video “HAUNTING ME” – A captivating dive into guilt and redemption

“I don’t want to give in / But it’s pointless / In the end, it’s gonna happen / Feel it burning in my chest / Can’t escape it / I try to run, but I wear myself out.”

Hailing from Orlando, Florida, the two-piece pop-rock band Bad Valentine have finally unveiled themselves with the release of their first music video, “HAUNTING ME.” The track comes off their mint debut EP, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WORST OF ME, and delves into the universal theme of grappling past mistakes that keep you up at night and the haunting feeling that accompanies these thoughts. With poignant lyrics and a catchy melody, “HAUNTING ME” resonates with listeners on a deeply relatable level: “Palms bleed, I’m losing my grip / Losing to ghosts in my head / I’ve been trying not to break apart / But it’s been haunting me… / I’m pretending I am not my scars.” Bad Valentine is intentional with their craft, committed to expressing the unspoken and connecting with those who feel misunderstood.

Lead vocalist Jackie Skillet expresses the vision behind “HAUNTING ME”: “Like most of our songs, HAUNTING ME is a bit heavier in terms of theme, so I wanted the video to be sort of lighthearted and comedic in contrast. Think monster movie in the woods but also Scooby Doo with a sprinkle of Home Alone.”

The visuals for “HAUNTING ME” perfectly encapsulate Jackie’s concepts, featuring an entertaining plot where the band members run away from their demons, before mustering up the courage to face off against the nasty fiends and fight back. “HAUNTING ME” is a promising glimpse into the duo’s artistic vision and sets a strong precedent for what’s to come from Bad Valentine.
