Last time we checked on them, Avenged Sevenfold were finishing up work on a new record, their first since 2016’s The Stage. While the recording process took longer than expected due to COVID and a number of other factors, the band’s new album is apparently “done”, according to Brooks Wackerman.
Considering mixer Andy Wallace is in the photo with the band, it’s pretty clear what “done” means – the band’s upcoming record is, in fact, done. While Avenged Sevenfold haven’t toured in a long time and a release date for the upcoming new album is unclear, you can likely expect 2023 to be a “comeback” year of sorts for them. Here’s hoping nothing holds up the new record even further, because The Stage was actually quite good.
