Audioslave was pretty much the supergroup of all modern rock/metal supergroups. That much is obvious when you conjure up a group fronted by Chris Cornell + the non-Zack De Le Rocha members of Rage Against The Machine, of course. Through their three album run between 2002-2006, the band sold millions of albums and even played a show in Cuba, which was a very big deal.
Anyway, the band’s 2002 self-titled debut album was certainly a highly anticipated affair. Spawning no less than five hit singles, it’s hard to argue with the band’s song “Like A Stone” being their biggest hit off that album. Featuring a huge chorus by Chris Cornell, it ended up being their biggest hit song – reaching #31 on the Hot 100 in the USA.
The song’s enduring popularity continues today, with the song’s music video now reaching a huge milestone that only a handful of rock and metal bands have reached. The official YouTube video for the song reached a staggering one BILLION views on the platform yesterday, which is honestly pretty incredible. Good music clearly has no expiration date.
Congrats to Audioslave for reaching 1B views on "Like A Stone". Chris Cornell is easily one of the greatest musicians of all time. RIP#audioslave #soundgarden#chriscornell pic.twitter.com/I7iDas87GH
