On a beautiful spring night Chicago was graced by Aly & AJ as they hit the Riviera Theatre for a stop on their “With Love From” tour.
20+ years into the sister duos career its clear they’ve hit their stride and found the sound that suits them best. Mixing elements of pop, country, acoustic, and rock into an assortment with lyrics mentioning love, heartbreak, and all the times in between its clear that its resinated with fans.
Its clear as well just how much in sync sisters Aly and AJ Michalka are on stage as well. Playing and working off each other and the crowd while its clear as day just how happy they are to be together and performing. As Alys mic had issues at the beginning of their set and the crowd sang through to help AJ made the perfect statement while they got it working, “Without Aly there is no AJ”, and the crowd responding in cheers.
With a 24 song set including most of their latest album “With Love From” fans were given their monies worth for sure. They also played the hits though and songs spanning their catolog which gathered cheers and sing alongs the entire night.
Aly & AJ are clearly getting better with age and having found their sound seem happier than ever. It’s only a matter of time before their next Chicago show is a bigger venue and their next album blows up and I for one can’t wait to watch it happen.
