I was fortunate enough to check out Save the Clock Tower’s debut release from Bullettooth and it is clear that this band is one to be regarded amongst the greats that hail from Australia.

Wasteland can break from extremely heavy to very melodic then right back to heavy and the transitions are seamless. The clean vocals sound pure with an older post-hardcore feel but a modern delivery to give every track a new and refreshing sound.

I was a fan from the first listen but with every repetition of the album I find myself more and more drawn in and I love it! Such a great album that only gets better with every listen as you catch more details from everything from the great riffs to the meaningful lyrics.

My favorite track off of Wasteland would have to be “Sanctuary” which the band have released a music video for that you can watch below. What I found most enthralling about this track was that opening guitar riff with the subtle melody behind it. Sometimes the best melodies are those that aren’t overplayed and that’s exactly what they achieved with this. That along with the rest of that song which I find to be just the right amount of heavy with catchy melodies.

Wasteland is an intense debut release that will undoubtedly leave you yearning for more from STCT.
