Album Review – Ill Nino “Till Death, La Familia”

ill ninoComing off of their 2012 release, “Epidemia,” the guys in Ill Nino are back with a vengeance. Since 1998, they have been known for their catchy riffs, heavy hitting drumming, amazing bass, and of course the all important diverse vocals.

The new album, “Till Death, La Familia” is in no way shape or form a “visitation” to a previous album. It has its own new, fresh sound. Although none of their albums have ever disappointed, this new album is something they should be proud of for a long time to come. Cristian has yet to fail us with his intense vocals, as the rest of the band, Lazaro Pina (bass), Diego Verduzco (rhythm guitar), Ahrue Luster (lead guitar), Dave Chavarri (drums), and Oscar Santiago (percussion) back him up heavily. And with the talent that everyone in this band has, it’s easy to tell that they’re here for a good long while.

Personally, my favorite songs off of the album are “Pray I Don’t Find You,” “World So Cold,” and “My Bullet.” If you’re into heavy music, you definitely need to check these guys out and this album for sure. Even if you don’t listen to heavy music, still listen to it just for the Hell of it. Also, if you’re going to Mayhem Festival this year, make sure to check them out playing on the Victory Records stage and make sure to stop by their merch tent and pick up the new album or other merch.

To buy the album digitally, go to these links. It’s also in stores at Best Buy and probably other private record stores.
