AEW Rampage – Episode 48 (07.01.2022) (Wrestling Review)

AEW

Royal Rampage Match
Matt Hardy vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Dustin Rhodes vs. Orange Cassidy vs. The Blade vs. Tony Nese (w/Mark Sterling) vs. John Silver vs. Rush (w/Andrade El Idolo & Jose The Assistant) vs. Penta Oscuro (w/Alex Abrahantes) vs. Adam Page vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Swerve Strickland vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Keith Lee vs. Ricky Starks vs. Brody King vs. Darby Allin vs. Max Caster (w/Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn) vs. Dante Martin vs. The Butcher (w/The Bunny)

A good concept match having two battle royals happen with the winner from each ring facing the other. It just turned out to be quicker than expected and somewhat lackluster. Almost too much action to have and with commercial breaks it can kill the match of the mood. Brody winning was good and his little section with Darby was fun. Also makes no sense why during the match wrestlers like Strickland acted as if there was a barrier preventing him from entering the other ring.

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Match
The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI)

A fun match that shows how The Bucks were a lot during their time in NJPW. More story telling here instead of their usual spot fest. It was fun though and no doubt Bucks would win.

Singles Match
Toni Storm vs. Nyla Rose (w/Marina Shafir)

Nyla dominated most the match with Toni making her comeback at the end. Wish Toni would get legit matches that didn’t have her be dominated most of it though. Two matches in a row for her now where most the match she was beat down.
