AEW Dynamite – Episode 139 (06.01.2022) (Wrestling Review)

Six Man Tag Team Match
CM Punk & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Max Caster & The Gunn Club (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) (w/Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn)

A solid but sloppy 6 man tag. Clearly FTR and Punk would win so this was stretched out a bit too much with the heels getting too much offense. It was fine though, really sloppy mainly on Punks end between his botched move off the rope and kicks not connecting.

MJF Promo

MJFs promo is something we will look at 20 years down the line. Clearly its a work now and hopefully Tony Khan has fixed things between the scenes with MJF but his promo released a lot of real issues he has felt as well as others about certain things in AEW. The fans were clearly invested in every word he said and I can’t wait to see how they move this forward.

Singles Match
Johnny Elite vs. Miro

Miros return match was pretty much just a dominate match. Pretty uneventful and so odd that they brought Johnny Elite in just to lose to other guys in boring matches.

Ten Man Tag Team Match
Christian Cage, Darby Allin, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus & Matt Hardy vs. Hikuleo & The Undisputed Elite (Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) (w/Brandon Cutler)

A chaotic 10 man tag as expected. It was tons of spots, hard to know who was legal, but was fun. Bucks were booked strong and a feud against Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus would be fun.

Singles Match
Wardlow vs. JD Drake

A Wardlow squash but also showed that he is pretty agile too. This man is a future star.

Tag Team Match
Ruby Soho & Toni Storm vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD & Jamie Hayter (w/Rebel)

A fun tag match that could have went either way honestly. Hayter is VASTLY underused and great in ring and as a heel with Britt. A lot of illegal moves here but that’s too be expected in an AEW tag match. I noticed too sometimes here that Toni is still just a bit off with some moves not looking like they connect at all.

2.5 / 5

Singles Match
Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia

Now normally I’m not a big fan of Garcia but he worked well here with Mox. Similar hard hitting styles and this match was all that. Moxley bleeding a ton too made it look like maybe Garcia could pick the win up.
