AEW

All Out

Chicago, IL

Sept. 3rd, 2023

Over Budget Charity Battle Royal
Scorpio Sky vs. Matt Menard vs. Angelo Parker vs. Trent Beretta vs. Shawn Spears vs. Chuck Taylor vs. Jake Hager vs. Brian Cage vs. Tony Nese (w/Mark Sterling) vs. Serpentico vs. Adam Page vs. Mark Davis vs. Dalton Castle (w/Brandon & Brent) vs. Kyle Fletcher vs. Darius Martin vs. Komander vs. Daniel Garcia vs. Bishop Kaun (w/Prince Nana) vs. Toa Liona vs. Action Andretti

This was just a generic battle royal. Adam Page wins for the feel good move since the money is going to the charity of the winners choice.

2 / 5

Six Man Tag Team Match
Athena, Diamante & Mercedes Martinez (w/Billie Starkz) vs. Hikaru Shida, Skye Blue & Willow Nightingale

Skye is over in front of a home town crowd of course but this just didn’t work really. Not everyone seemed on the same page.

2 / 5

AEW World Trios Title Match
Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) (w/Dennis Rodman) (c) vs. Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett & Satnam Singh (w/Karen Jarrett & Sonjay Dutt)

This was just for the big spots. Rodman got to be involved and Acclaimed / Gunn got their moves in.

2.5 / 5

ROH World Tag Team Title Match
Better Than You Bay Bay (Adam Cole & MJF) (c) vs. The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver) (w/Evil Uno)

MJF selling the neck so Dark Order got to look like heels and Cole got to look like a superhero trying to keep their belts.

3.5 / 5

ROH World Television Title Match
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Shane Taylor

This was fine. Quick and just big guys hitting each other. Keeping it quick worked well since Taylor isn’t known by many.

3 / 5

AEW TNT Title Match
Luchasaurus (w/Christian Cage) (c) vs. Darby Allin (w/Nick Wayne)

This was fun. Darby got to bleed and be over the top trying to fight someone so much better. They had Wayne and Christian involved for the story. Losing gives Darby some time off I bet to heal up.

3.25 / 5

Singles Match
Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

This got way more time than expected. Another big hoss type battle but it worked out great and gave both guys a showcase they desperately needed.

3.5 / 5

AEW TBS Title Match
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Ruby Soho (w/Saraya)

Another match that was a showcase of people that needed it. Kris and Soho looked great here and the crowd was into it.

3.5 / 5

No Disqualification Strap Match
Bryan Danielson vs. Ricky Starks

God both men here beat the hell out of each other. Danielson proves why he’s top tier and Starks held up great here. This was 2 guys going for it all and putting on a great match that can be hard to do well.

4.5 / 5

Tag Team Match
Eddie Kingston & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta)

This could have been shorter. It dragged on a bit and Eddie losing again to Claudio doesn’t help his cause.

2.75 / 5

Singles Match
Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita (w/Don Callis)

This should help AEW solidify Takeshita as a big guy for a long time. Omega ran his true and tested formula here and both guys put on a great match.

4 / 5

Eight Man Tag Team Match
FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. Bullet Club Gold (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Jay White & Juice Robinson)

This was fun but going 20 minutes wasn’t entirely needed. FTR and Bucks working together was fine and them doing team moves was a fun kick. Bullet Club Gold needed the win as without Punk they’ll likely be the head of Collision.

3.75 / 5

AEW International Title Match
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jon Moxley

The end was expected here. Cassidy has made that title mean something and his story has come to an end. Mox made sure he looked like a strong beaten champ losing finally in a super physical bloody match.
