Though their output has been a bit sporadic, Boston post-hardcore band Actor|Observer have honed in on a core sound and become one of the genre’s more interesting acts. Swinging between melodic and heavy and the drop of a hat, they’re certainly an act that’s deserving of more attention.
The band’s new song “Fool’s Gold” is an urgent anthem, to be certain. The subject matter is compelling, per the band’s typically cerebral and forward-thinking lyrics. This time, the band addresses the rising cost of living and gentrification in their home area – one that is also not foreign to other big cities.
With typically candid lyrics that punctuate the ebbs and flows of their music, the song arrives ahead of their upcoming EP, which drops in November. You can pre-order the EP right here.
