AAW – Never Say Die 2016 (Wrestling Review)

AAW

Never Say Die

Merrionette Park, IL

Nov. 4th, 2016

Singles Match
Joey Janela vs. Dezmond Xavier

A fun quicker opening match. Nothing special but Desmond’s finisher is great.

2.75 / 5

Three Way Match
Jessicka Havok vs. Kimber Lee vs. Heidi Lovelace

A lot of sloppy moments here where hits didn’t land or looked awful. A fine 3 way match but just nothing great given that it didn’t always look good.

2.25 / 5

AAW Tag Team Title Match
Davey Vega & Mat Fitchett (c) vs. Chuck Taylor & Dan Barry

A really fun tag title match here. It felt like it could go either way and the crowd was super behind this. It kept the action going nice and had some good spots.

3 / 5

AAW Heritage Title Match
AR Fox (c) vs. Jack Evans

This had all the parts to be fantastic but just fell short. It had its big spots and moments but just never flowed well together and reached what could have been.

2.5 / 5

Singles Match
Kongo Kong (w/Dr. Louis J. Pinder) vs. Jeff Cobb

An okay battle of the big guys. A few big moments but nothing really too great here.

2.75 / 5

Tag Team Match
Chris Hero & Matt Hardy vs. Andrew Everett & Trevor Lee

Honestly wasn’t a big fan of this. The dancing part took forever and it never flowed well. It had its moments but I just wasn’t a big fan of this.

2 / 5

Singles Match
Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Prince Mustafa Ali

A really solid match that mixed styles. ZSJ is so technical and can pull it off out of nowhere and Ali is versatile and a hometown favorite.

3.5 / 5

Six Man Tag Team Match
Eddie Kingston, Homicide & Low Ki vs. Dave Crist, Jake Crist & Sami Callihan

Pretty much just a straight brawl. Not entirely too interesting but Low Ki got his moves in and that’s always fun to watch.
