2004 was a damned good year for music. Anniversary albums are all the rage, too. Time to flashback to that great decade with 10 bands that should definitely play these albums for an anniversary tour.

Isis (Panopticon)

The post-metal titans may not be around anymore, but Panopticon (and Oceanic) are two highly influential albums that their peers simply can’t match. “In Fiction” is a standout track for sure.

Mewithoutyou (Catch For Us The Foxes)

Aaron Weiss and his warbling style of confessional vocals have a heavy influence in bands like Listener and La Dispute. Listen to opener “Torches Together” for one of the best (if not THE best) tracks on the album.

Misery Signals (Of Malice and the Magnum Heart)

One of the essential metalcore bands of the last decade. Fan favorite track “The Year Summer Ended In June” is an emotional true story. “And that glass stings my lungs.”

Alexisonfire (Watch Out!)

“Maybe music isn’t dead. Maybe we just forgot what it fucking sounded like.”

Alexisonfire’s breakthrough album really came in the golden age of post-hardcore. “Get Fighted” is a 3-minute burst of excellent songwriting, while “No Transitory” features great synergy between vocalists Dallas Green and George Pettit.

Converge (You Fail Me)

hhhh

Jacob Bannon’s abrasive vocals never sounded clearer than they do here. Tracks like “Black Cloud” feature Converge at their heaviest.

Arcade Fire (Funeral)

There’s so much going on in “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out). “Funeral” is still looked at as Arcade Fire’s best album – an adventurous slice of indie rock.

Fear Before (Art Damage)

The Converge and Botch influences are obvious in 2nd track “Should Have Stayed In the Shallows”. A comeback tour for Art Damage would be awesome for everyone.

Blindside (About A Burning Fire)

“I think I’ve stayed for the last time, goodbye!”

In a perfect world, Blindside would be selling out stadiums with their infectious mix of rock and post-hardcore. “Eye Of The Storm” is Blindside at their most emotionally affecting.

Jimmy Eat World (Futures)

Jimmy Eat World followed up Bleed American with this introspective, mature set of songs. “23” is one of their most emotionally pummeling songs. If that song doesn’t do anything for you, “Drugs Or Me” will.

He Is Legend (I Am Hollywood)

Southern post-hardcore with snarling vocals from Schuyler Croom. The title track invites you to start moshing and stage-dive – an endless amount of energy carries the album. Wouldn’t a Norma Jean/He Is Legend tour be awesome?
