In what is sure to draw comments from everyone in both genres, Five Finger Death Punch will be co-headlining arenas this fall with country superstar Brantley Gilbert, who last year appeared at the ultra-conservative right-wing AmericaFest, put together by Turning Point USA.
NOT The Onion.
The tour will also feature Canadian country artist Cory Marks. Why FFDP aren’t using this opportunity to bring out more up and coming artists (instead of established ones) is anyone’s guess (though they have in the past), but it actually makes a lot of sense. Five Finger Death Punch have traditionally courted a more conservative audience – the same one that country music fans often flock to. Still, it’s an odd choice when you realize that it’s not likely to draw in younger fans at all. Should be interesting.
