English metal band Seasons Awake release their new song ‘CXRRUPTION’ featuring Taylor Barber!

Forming in 2016, between current guitarist Jack Allen and former vocalist Adam Barkley, came Seasons Awake. The band’s original incarnation featured 8-string guitars and caustic vocals. Seasons Awake released their debut song ‘Kiasu‘ in 2017, which leaned towards the more metalcore approach we see the band perform today. The song was a creatively impressive piece of music, and featured Tom Barber. I remember hearing this track back in the day and really enjoyed it. Throughout the next few years, Seasons Awake experimented with changes in their sound that have led up to where they are today. The band completely revitalized themselves in 2021 with a fresh new spin on things and a new vocalist, Jack Coleman. The band released their first track since their revamping titled ‘Desolate’, and began the next chapter of their music.

Seasons Awake have released two songs this year with ‘Backstabber’ being released earlier in the year, and their newest song ‘CXRRUPTION’. Their newest song was released through the Slam Worldwide platform and is one of my favorites of theirs yet! Seasons Awake brought on the talented Taylor Barber of Left To Suffer to help elevate this track even further, and it works. The song starts out with a chilling build up that explodes into the first verse. Lyrically speaking, the song tackles how the United Kingdom’s government failed to follow their own Covid-19 orders, and continue to deny it. Formidable songwriting, impressive vocals, and mountain shaking percussion makes up the new era of Seasons Awake. The band is currently working on new music, including a remake of their debut song titled ‘Kiasu’! Seasons Awake is Jack Coleman (vocals), Jack Allen (guitar), Louis Nicholls (bass), and Kyran Slater (guitar).
