Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda wins a Grammy award for his remix of Deftones’ “Passenger”

Mike Shinoda is known for many things. Chiefly among them, being a major part of what made Linkin Park click almost right away. There’s also his solo work and his releases with Fort Minor, all of which have experienced commercial and critical success, as well as expanded his overall sonic palette and versatility. Lately, Shinoda has also become an in-demand producer and remixer, working with the likes of former Hopes Die Last vocalist’s newer project Becko, and even remixing burgeoning artists live on Twitch.

With his remix of their iconic song “Passenger” on the Black Stallion version of their White Pony album, Mike Shinoda was honored with a major award as an individual artist for the first time. Shinoda won a Grammy Award over the weekend for the remix, which is technically his first as a solo artist, as Shinoda explained. Pretty cool stuff for a musician who’s racked up many accolades over the years.
