If the goal for NYC alt=rock/metalcore newcomers Karmella is to deliver an emotionally resonant, yet familiar message, they’ve done this in spades with their debut single “Past Tense”. Released back in February, the song is accessible to those who may not be into the heavier side of metalcore, but it’s balanced out by being just heavy enough to have a wider-ranging appeal. In other words, it’s something that’s definitely up our alley, and you’ll probably enjoy it too. It’ll be interesting to see (well, hear) where Karmella goes next, but for now, “Past Tense” is a solid introduction to what the band is trying to do.
Music. Gaming. Nostalgia. Culture.
