Members of State Champs, The Story So Far, and Drug Church team up for huge power pop project, Pile Of Love

Pile Of Love is a supergroup of sorts. Consisting of members of Drug Church, The Story So Far, State Champs, and Mobin’s Child vocalist Morgan Foster, the band’s self-titled debut album dropped Friday without really any warning. It sounds both like you’d expect but also not – at its core, the band plays a kind of sunny ’90s influenced guitar pop/alt-rock with hooks that will get stuck in your head. There’s enough of an edge here to make the 31 minute runtime breeze by, but either way – these are some obscenely catchy songs that aren’t just coasting on nostalgia. You can stream the full-length record below.

The band was formed last year as touring plans for all of their projects were halted, and Ryan Scott Graham had this to say about the band’s formation, saying: “Pile of Love was solely created as a fun, no pressure musical outlet. The desire to play and the overwhelming amount of downtime was the perfect storm to start a new project. We met every Saturday to jam and write a new song, and before we knew it, we had a full length and it was time to get in the studio. Music for music’s sake.”
