Killswitch Engage’s “My Curse” certified Platinum, “The End Of Heartache” + “Holy Diver” certified Gold by the RIAA

Killswitch Engage are one of modern metalcore’s most prolific and successful bands. Since the release of their 2002 sophomore album Alive Or Just Breathing, the band have gone from strength to strength (despite switching vocalists from Jesse to Howard, and back to Jesse Leach), and the band’s most successful period commercially arrived with Howard Jones entering the fold for 2004’s The End Of Heartache.

Dozens of sold-out tours and Grammy nominations later, the band is still putting out strong material with last year’s Atonement – and of course, those aren’t the only milestones the band has hit lately. KSE’s cover of “Holy Diver”, “The End Of Heartache”, and “My Curse” – three of the band’s most popular songs to date – have hit some coveted markers as well.

As of September 10th, all 3 singles have been certified Gold (“The End Of Heartache”, “Holy Diver”) or Platinum (“My Curse”) by the RIAA, which takes into account digital sales, streaming numbers, and much more. Considering it’s pretty rare for metal bands – especially bands in the metalcore genre – to sell in great numbers, this is a big time accomplishment for the band. The video for “Holy Diver” is also hilarious to this day, and is still worth a watch as well.
