Today I (Bryce) caught up with Bryan Long of King Conquer/Dealey Plaza and talked to him about his all time favorite albums. Listed below are his top 5, along with why they earned their spots as his favorites.

Metallica (Kill Em’ All)

“Simply because it was what my parents played a lot so that was essentially how I first got into metal.”

System of a Down (Steal this Album)

I remember this kid from school when I was like in 6th grade played it for me at his house and I had him burn it for me immediately and in regards to why I’d say its influential is because its one of the first bands that I was just like fuck dude this is genius and keep in mind I was 11 and now I’m 23 and feel the same way hah.

Job for a Cowboy (Genesis)

Right when that album came out like I knew I wanted to play in a metal band there was just no way around that. That album didn’t leave my CD player for I wanna say 6 months I couldn’t get enough of it, its just so heavy and gold in my opinion.

Suicide Silence (The Cleansing)

I get the comparison that my highs sound like Mitch’s a lot and this album is why. Mitch luckers highs were the most intense thing I’d ever heard at that time and I absolutely needed to learn those and I based my whole learning experience off of him from that album and now I get compared to him daily which may seem like it’d be annoying but to me its such a compliment.

Deftones (Koi No Yokan)

Simply because its genius, like everything they do but for some reason I always end up listening to that album on rides to shows, long nightime drives on tour, even listen to it to go to sleep, to clean, its just one of my favorite albums like ever haha.”
