WATCH: Brand New’s full set at High & Low Festival

Fresh off of releasing their fifth (and likely final) studio album Science Fiction, Brand New headlined this year’s High & Low Festival on Saturday, performing to a packed audience at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Containing seven tracks off of Science Fiction which the band performed for the very first time, in addition to many fan favorites, Brand New’s set was nothing short of electrifying. If you were not fortunate enough to attend, you can experience the entire set through the fan-shot video below. Thanks to Deniz Davenport for live streaming the whole set!

Writing Sessions 001: Capsize In The Studio

Photo taken by Dream Films Los Angeles

Riding high off the success of their sophomore record A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me, California’s Capsize are not strangers to either the studio or the road, touring and playing shows whenever and wherever they can. The band always seems to be writing and recording new tunes, as evidenced by the band’s recently released Youtube video, entitled WRITING SESSIONS 001. The 6 minute video below shows the band demoing material, goofing off, and lots more, so check out the video below and see what Capsize is up to currently. It’s a video that shows how the band writes their music, so hopefully we see continuations of this series.

One of my favorite bands right now is Maryland’s upstarts Wander, whose self-titled album from 2014 was a polished yet gritty masterpiece, residing somewhere between the proficiency of Icarus the Owl/Dance Gavin Dance, and the energy of more modern pop-punk bands like Head North/Seasons Change. For a band that’s been around just 3 years, they’re clearly doing some unique things right now. In fact, their 2nd full-length is now a finished product!

Jack Rentschler of Wander recently uploaded a video of him covering beloved Florida indie rockers Copeland, and their iconic song, “California”. “California” is one of my personal favorite songs off Copeland’s 2003 album Beneath Medicine Tree, and it’s safe to say Jack does a pretty good job on this. Check out the video below, and stay tuned for more info about Wander’s upcoming 2nd album.
