Despite the absence of ex-vocalist Austin Carlile, Of Mice & Men have been busy and working harder than ever, recording two fairly well-received new songs (“Back To Me”, “Unbreakable”) with sole vocalist Aaron Pauley at the helm. To be perfectly honest, the fact these songs are so solid despite a major member change, is very impressive. They fit well enough on active rock radio.
Given that their most recent full-length Cold World is a year old, we can reasonably expect a new album sometime next year – or at least one would think. And it appears that the band is back in the studio demoing and/or actually recording new music – including tracking guitars. Whatever they’re up to right now is something we’re fairly hyped for.
