After Make Them Suffer released their single and video “Let Me In”, fans were concerned about the direction of the band and whether or not they’d hear the same amount of heaviness that they provided with Neverbloom. I personally enjoyed the melodic and emotional pull of the song, but I didn’t want them to lose their sound they developed so strongly on their previous releases. Luckily, “Requiem” is a straight up Make Them Suffer song, and it is full of fast, crushing riffs and punishing vocals.
Anyone who worried about this band “selling out” will be forced to think again after hearing this new single. I especially love how well the keys fit into this song, and it feels like just as important of an instrument as the guitars or drums.
