The future is right now for Japan’s metalcore genre-smashers Crossfaith. I was first introduced to the band just before Warped Tour 2013, and though I missed Letlive to see them (talk about sad), I don’t regret it at all. The band put on the set of the day (next to While She Sleeps), and 2 years later, I never forgot the band. How could anyone who witnesses their enthralling, pulse-pounding live show ever lose sight of Crossfaith?
Even better, Crossfaith’s got a new album out, Xeno. For the uninitiated, Xeno is the perfect introduction to the band. Combining elements of rock, metal, electronica, drum&bass, and several more, they’re more than your typical “electronicore” band. Fans of intense, electronic-driven metal will find Crossfaith to be more than passable – they’ll often find Xeno to be exceptional, especially on tracks like “Devil’s Party”, “Tears Fall”, and “Ghost In The Mirror” (featuring Caleb Shomo of Beartooth).
