Will Linkin Park release new material? Bassist Dave Farrell addresses the future

With the tragic passing of vocalist Chester Bennington just over a year ago, and Mike Shinoda’s successful Post Traumatic album cycle kicking off earlier this year, one wonders what the future of Linkin Park will hold. After all, losing any member of a band so tragically is very difficult to overcome.

In a new interview with Sirius XM, bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, who also runs the podcast Member Guest, discusses the band’s possibly future moving forward.

“I think we will do music again. We all want to. We all still enjoy being together and being around each other.”

He did note, however, that there’s no real set time for that to happen. Farrell also noted the band’s loyal fans, who have been uniformily supportive of whatever is going to happen to the band in the future – whether they make music or not.

While realistically, nobody knows what Linkin Park would sound like without Chester, it certainly bears watching if/when they do resurface, and in whatever format that might entail.
