British metalcore/punk/rock band While She Sleeps are a hard working band that clearly deserves all the success and accolades they’ve received thus far into their careers, and on their 3rd album, the just released You Are We, the accolades are coming in hot and fast, crowning the album as some of the band’s best work to date. Given how dynamic tracks like “Silence Speaks” and “Feel” are, that’s hard to argue with.
The band, who are an independent entity now (but did partner with Sharptone and UNFD to distribute the new album), knows the meaning of hard work and determination. After seeing both their debut full-length This Is The Six and its 2015 followup Brainwashed gain the band a legion of new fans worldwide, Sleeps decided to go it alone via PledgeMusic for album #3. Even going independent hasn’t hurt the band, though – there’s arguably more buzz around this record than the two previous ones. Listen closely, and you’ll hear the sound of a band doing what they want, on their own terms.
What’s even more awesome is that WSS dedicated their new album You Are We to the late Tom Searle of Architects – a band they’ve played with many, many times over the years. Truly, this is the moment for Sleeps, but it’s clear they’ve not forgotten the friends they’ve made along the way.
