Having released 6 singles in just under two years – each seemingly more expansive than the last – Los Angeles rock band Vespera are easily one of our favorite bands right now. Effortlessly combining various subgenres of rock and metal into something thought-provoking, the band’s newest single, “Sleepless”, is one of their most interesting to date.
The song also features some of their best guitar work to date, and guitarist Cairn Tse-Lalonde seems to make it look effortless in the new guitar playthrough for “Sleepless”. Combining melodic and heavy styles isn’t an easy thing to do, but it’s done very well here. The band’s long-awaited debut album, The Thoughts That Plague You, drops sometime in 2019 – so fans of forward-thinking rock music will want to pay attention.
