This is not a drill. One could be forgiven for thinking the band might yet be trolling fans with new music, only to pull the curtain out from under them, but it’s official – Tool have released “Fear Inoculum”, their first official single in 13 years. A song that sits at an impressive 10 minutes long, it immediately brings to mind their Lateralus and 10,000 Days albums more than the alternative metal of their earlier work. Either way, it’s damned impressive and pretty engaging, too.
The track arrives ahead of a headlining performance at Aftershock Festival in California later this year, and as mentioned, their new album of the same name that releases August 30th. We can hardly believe it ourselves.
